WHO WE SERVE
Christian Addiction Treatment Programs for Men and Women
At Arizona’s top drug rehab and addiction treatment center, Recovery in the Pines, men and women will receive individualized, gender-specific addiction treatment and therapy with a Christian foundation to provide the best opportunity for lasting recovery. Since each person needing alcohol or substance abuse treatment brings their own history and circumstances — from gender, to family history, addictive substances, physical health, and spirituality — they require a program that heals their specific addiction and drug abuse issues.
At Recovery in the Pines, we treat male and female individuals addicted to drugs and alcohol, plus, we provide counseling, training, physicians’ care and support for their loved ones. Each patient receives team attention, including a case manager, a physician, a nurse, a life coach, a health and wellness consultant, and Christian spiritual advisors. We extend our services to families because recovery and sobriety require the love and support of others to make it lasting. Plus, families must address the negative impacts substance abuse and drug addiction has on them to be able to provide a healthy environment when their loved one returns home.

Albert’s secret double life imploded when cocaine addiction faced off against his public image as a successful businessman, loving husband and father. Those opposing worlds collided as deception became unmanageable and he found himself unable to separate the conflicting spheres.
The early days of college triggered Albert’s drug habit, which only intensified in the ensuing years over career and family pressures. Despite being raised in a loving and supportive family with little exposure to drugs and alcohol, he remained enslaved for the better part of 20 years.
Finally judging his life and family in jeopardy, Albert reached out in desperation and found his solution in God-centered recovery. With faith and God’s guidance and following the 12-step book, he acquired the tools necessary to remain sober, fight addiction, and rebuild his family.
Through Recovery in the Pines, a Christian-based substance abuse treatment program in Prescott AZ, Albert now shares with others fighting substance abuse with God-given faith, hope and strength. Acknowledging his own agonizing journey and faith-centered recovery, he offers encouragement and stamina through trust in God.
Founder and president of Recovery in the Pines, Albert previously had built successful real estate and mortgage brokerages. Associated business skills fortify the treatment practice, which he manages with wife, Karen. As staff nurse at Recovery in the Pines, Karen partners with doctors, patients and families to develop comprehensive treatment plans and ensure continuity of care.
Albert and Karen parent three children ― Anthony, Benjamin, and Audrey ― with whom they enjoy spending time outdoors, participating in youth sports, and sharing the gifts the family has received through God’s word.
The Bible Verse Matthew 28: 18-20 guides the couple in their mission at Recovery in the Pines: Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
God stands by those who believe in Him and take comfort in His authority over their lives and choices.
Doug has experienced many life-defining moments that fuel his desire to help individuals and families affected by drug addiction and alcohol dependency. He intimately understands the personal despair, hopelessness and destruction experienced by active alcoholics and addicts. Conversely, he knows the blessing that are possible for those who work a solid recovery program and pursue a relationship with God and Jesus Christ. Entering recovery in 1997 and in conjunction with other life defining moments such as the passing of his brother, Andy, and two close friends whom were affected by drugs and alcohol, Doug found sobriety and has remained sober since. Raised in a devout Catholic family, Doug recommitted his life to Christ by getting baptized as an adult.
Doug is now Chief Executive Officer at Recovery in the Pines. Doug has previously held many high level positions in a variety of professions, including VP of Sales and Marketing for a leading 3rd party computer memory company, owning an award-winning fine dining restaurant, and operating an internet marketing consultancy.
Doug’s wife, Donna, is a registered nurse and a volunteer at Recovery in the Pines. They have three children: Baylee, Isabelle and Colin. Doug reads the Bible and 12-step books daily, participates in Bible studies, attends worship service weekly, and seeks to further his understanding of God’s will for him in service to others.
